On 2 September 2021, Universal Music Group held a presentation of a new ABBA song I Still Have Faith in You at the top of London’s ArcelorMittal Orbit tower. “We’ve done as good as we could at our age.”
Bjorn suggests the idea of the ABBA reunion happened after creation of their digital (younger) selves (Abbatars) was decided upon. The Abbatars should have new songs to perform! Once Frida and Agnetha began singing again together, the ABBA sound was magically recreated. Of Voyage: "We are as proud of this as we were back in the 70s...this is the follow-up of The Visitors."

Cars
From 1st September 2001, a completely new scheme, using numbers for the year indicator, was introduced. By using 2 registration marks per year, it was hoped to even out the peak in the demand for new car.

HS2 Railway (Feb 2020 agreed to proceed).
Crossrail, which began construction in 2009 and was due to be completed by 2018, was expected to be delivered in early 2022.
Covid-19 virus - UK lockdown from 23 March 2020. Step 4 of being Covid safe was completed by 19 July 2021.
NHS Nightingale hospital (capacity 4k) opened 3 April 2020 in ExCel Centre, London.
Crossrail - The Elizabeth Line (Shenfield to Reading) opened 24 May 2022.
Economic crash - On 23 September 2022, new Prime Minister Liz Truss's instigated mini-budget statement of radical tax cuts (which were quickly reversed) contributed to crashing the UK economy. However, the underlying long-term problem (pre-dating Truss) of the UK gilts debt, played a big part in destabilising the economy.

Thames Tideway Tunnel - The £4.5 billion relief super-sewer running 16 miles across London, was officially opened by King Charles on 7 May 2025.
The first TOC (Train Operating Company) to be brought back into public ownership as GBR, was South Western Railways on 25 May 2025.
Space
The last two Heathrow-based 747-400 jet planes with British Airways (BA) were taken out of service on 8 October 2020.
SpaceX launch 30 May 2020.
From the commercial partnership with NASA, the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket and Dragon crew capsule launched from Florida’s Kennedy Space Center to the International Space Station (ISS) and was the first US manned space flight since the end of the Shuttle program in 2011.

The SpaceX Dragon Capsule carrying Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken came down in the Gulf of Mexico just south of Pensacola on Florida's Gulf coast. The touchdown marked the first crewed US water landing since the final outing of an Apollo command module (Apollo 17) in 1972.
